- Subtraction Word Problems
A scene that shrinks by whatever was used, and a scene where two quantities are held against each other, have to be told apart as word problems. What Is Left is one shape and The Difference the other, and although both settle into a subtraction, what belongs in the answer differs.
The two readings start from different places. What Is Left removes from a single quantity whatever went out of it, while The Difference lines two quantities up and takes the smaller from the larger. An answer above the number being subtracted from means an addition happened instead. The words attached to the answer swap over between the two shapes as well.
The breaking procedure stacked up as far as 4-Digit Subtraction is called out here from the side of a situation. Column Subtraction ends with this, and setting up an expression and carrying it out come together as one.
