Parallelograms and nothing else are handled. Drawings with the dotted height line inside the figure, outside on the right, and outside on the left come in turn, and every one multiplies base by height, writing an expression and then an answer, as Calculation. The answers always come out whole.

Because the lesson follows Area of a Triangle, the hand does not stop after multiplying and a division by 2 gets written into the answer. There is no dividing by 2 in the parallelogram formula. Whether the expression under the drawing ends with nothing but a multiplication of two figures is the mark.
What changes is only the length of the expression, and finding the height runs as it did in Area of a Triangle. In Area of a Trapezoid, one step is added before the multiplying: the top side and the bottom side are added.
