The way round a shape made by cutting or overlapping circles is counted up, split into the arc parts and the straight parts, as Calculation. A shape cut in half comes both with the diameter given and with the radius given, and the work goes on to a quarter, to three quarters left, and to a donut between a large circle and a small one.

In the donut, both the outer circle and the inner circle are traced around, so the two circumferences get added. Bring in the subtraction used for areas and the answer falls below the outer circumference alone. An answer smaller than one trip round the outer circle has a subtraction where an addition belongs.
In Perimeter of Composite Figures a piece of a circle and a straight line change places many times over inside one drawing, and telling arc from straight line becomes the center of the work. Splitting arc from straight line before adding stays as it was learned here.
