How Savings Grow
2Word Problems
What this worksheet covers
Grade 6 (Elementary School) / Various Word Problems / How Savings Grow
Scenes growing or shrinking by the same sum every month are asked about from the side of the number of times, as word problems. The months until two people's savings together reach a target, cases where a sum is held from the start, the Catching Up shape, giving the months until the smaller side draws level, the months until spending leaves a fixed amount, and the months until a gap opens are lined up.
In a question with Starting Savings, an expression gets set up dividing the target sum by the monthly sum as it stands. What piles up each month is the remainder once the starting sum is taken from the target. The figure inside the division being the difference of the two sums of money in the writing means it is right.
In place of the view of regularity that counted cycles, what gets watched here is the pace at which a steady change piles up. What grows turns from a sum of money into the progress of a job with the whole taken as 1, in Work-Rate Problems.
