Introducing 'My Kanji Collection' for Collecting Kanji Characters

We've added 'My Kanji Collection' to the Kanji Drills. When you progress through the drills on screen and answer correctly, that kanji is added to your collection. No matter which grade level you start from, your collection is designed to grow gradually from the characters you've gathered.

You'll receive one four-character idiom card related to your collected characters for the first three new kanji, and then another for every 10 kanji you collect thereafter. We have prepared 96 different idioms, each with its meaning and a simple, paper-cutout-style picture book illustration. Which card you'll encounter is a fun surprise.

We've set the scoring as follows: 10 points for a correct answer on your own, 5 points for a correct answer after reviewing, and 2 points for practicing by writing while looking at a model. Even if you don't know a character, you can still practice writing it, and practiced characters will remain in a 'Practicing' section. From there, if you can write it without the model, it will be added to your collection.

We created this feature with the desire to record not just correct answers, but also the efforts made during the learning process. You can open it from the Kanji Drill entrance or by selecting 'View My Kanji Collection' after your work is graded.
