Circles and Spheres worksheets for Grade 3 (Elementary School)
What this unit covers
This unit makes the relationship between center, radius and diameter usable inside a diagram. Lengths are traced through figures of three, four and five overlapping circles, and the work extends to spheres packed in a tube or a box, where a diameter or a radius has to be recovered from the container.
The central error is swapping radius and diameter, which makes the answer twice or half of what it should be. With packed spheres, the length of a tube holding three balls is reported as a single diameter. With overlapping circles, the radius of the shared part is counted twice and the total length comes out too long.
