What this worksheet covers
- Worksheet
- Calculation
Expressions that leave something over are taken up. The quotients are kept to a size that stays Within the Times Tables, and the answer is written as a quotient paired with a remainder. Two shapes carry the lesson, working an answer out from an expression and Fill in the Blank, where an opened box is filled.

Where the box stands for the dividend, multiplying the quotient by the divisor does not settle it; only after the remainder is added does the box become what it should. Dividing the written box figure by the divisor again and seeing whether both quotient and remainder come back finds the missed addition on the spot.
Shapes with something left over appear here for the first time. Word Problems uses the same arithmetic inside a scene and goes as far as deciding what to do with the remainder that comes out.
