What this worksheet covers
- Worksheet
- Addition
Three numbers stand in a row and are added in two goes, working from the front. The sum of the first pair is held in the head and the last number is laid on top of it, a flow traced through Calculation and Fill in the Blank and carried on without a break into Word Problems (with Pictures) and Word Problems.

Skipping the middle number and adding only the two at either end is the error that appears. It happens because the figure produced halfway through will not stay in the head, so writing that figure in small under the equation before starting the second step prevents it.
The unit comes in two parts and this is the first of them. Two numbers becoming three is the whole of what changes here, and Subtraction follows the same row of numbers with a minus sign in place.
