What this worksheet covers
- Worksheet
- Word Problems
The word problems put two quantities in different units. Both Rewriting and Adding and Rewriting and Subtracting take capacities written in separate units such as L, dL and mL, bring them into one unit first, and only then add or subtract.

Skip that step and answers appear where the written figures were simply added. Before the pencil moves, whether the unit letters attached to the two figures in the expression are the same has to be checked. An answer calculated with the letters still different comes out as a figure whose places do not line up.
Of the restating practiced in Capacity and in Length, what joins up with arithmetic here is the capacity side. Weight (kg, g, t) keeps this same order of bringing units into line before calculating. The only tool needed is the one restating learned in Capacity.
