- Division Beyond the Times Tables
Only expressions whose quotient runs to two digits are gathered. For something like 69 ÷ 3 the approach switches to splitting the dividend and dividing each part in turn. Besides the plain working and Fill in the Blank, Equal Sharing (Word Problems) and How Many Groups (Word Problems) are set out.

So that the quotient fits into two digits, the dividend is split into two numbers the divisor goes into evenly. Each part is divided and the two results added into one. Lose that final addition and only the larger result survives, with the other part dropping out entirely.
The reading of situations picked up in Word Problems carries on unchanged, and only the size of the dividend widens. Division is now complete, and a quotient can be found by one and the same procedure whether it lies inside the tables or beyond them.
