- Angles of a Set Square
A set square carries only the angles 30, 45, 60 and 90 degrees. Those fixed figures are combined to give Sum of Angles and Difference of Angles, Angles on a Straight Line and The Remaining Angle where a square is laid on a line, and the angles of the Crossing Type where two hypotenuses cross. Angles are read off a figure and written down.

The Remaining Angle draws items where two squares' worth should come off 180 degrees but the work stops after one. Crossing Type asks for both of the angles made at the crossing, so once one is found the same figure gets copied to the other. Two angles side by side make 180 degrees between them, so if the two written do not reach that, one was copied.
The next unit, Adding and Subtracting Decimals, returns to looking closely at numbers themselves. In Calculating Angles the clue was a figure written into the drawing; here the sizes the square carries have to be recalled and built into an expression.
