The sum of the interior angles is found as Calculation for everything from a triangle to a decagon. Triangles are made by drawing diagonals from a vertex, by joining from a point inside, or by joining from a point on a side, and for pentagons and hexagons the sum found is used to get a remaining angle as well.

Joining from a point inside makes as many triangles as the polygon has sides, but the 360 degrees gathered at that point are not interior angles. Papers come in that answer without subtracting those 360 degrees. Because the sum of the interior angles is the same however the figure is cut, setting the result beside the figure from the cut at a vertex finds the missing subtraction at once.
The unit that began at Congruent Figures has moved from finding one angle to deriving the sum of the angles of a whole figure. The next unit, Properties of Integers (Divisors and Multiples), deals not with figures but with the properties of number itself.
