The figure to read becomes round. Dividing lines drawn out from the center cut it into five, each with its % printed on it. The count of questions and their arrangement match the band, and the flow of reading a percentage, finding the amount it stands for, combining two, taking a difference and finding how many times as large is traced across a row of sectors, all by eye.

Among the five questions stands one asking how many times as large one category is than another. Subtract the two percentages here and what lands in the answer box is a difference rather than a ratio. Multiply the figure found by the smaller percentage and see whether the larger percentage comes back, and dividing is told from subtracting.
The same questions as Band Graphs have been traced once more on a figure of another shape. In the next unit, Circles and Regular Polygons, that same round shape appears not as a figure showing percentages but as a figure with sides and angles.
