Frequency Distribution Tables and Histograms
B-3Word Problems (Frequency Table)
What this worksheet covers
Grade 6 (Elementary School) / Investigating Data / Frequency Distribution Tables and Histograms
The same data gets replaced by counts of people class by class. Word problems making a Frequency Distribution Table out of a table of raw figures and answering which class holds the most and which class the median falls in stand beside reading frequencies, totals and percentages off a finished Histogram by eye.
What a percentage rests on is always the number of people in the whole. Confirm first that every frequency in the table or graph, added together, matches the number written in the question, then divide by that number. An answer that turned a class count straight into a percent has skipped this step.
The mean and the median have been set here inside the divisions called classes. Keeping the way of reading gained in Representative Values, the work leaves the organizing of figures for calculation that finds the ground a shape covers, in Area of a Circle (Basics).
