Grade 6 (Elementary School) / Multiplication of Fractions / Multiplying 3 Fractions

The center is calculation multiplying three fractions in a row, with word problems in three shapes laid on top: a question applying a percentage twice over, a question multiplying a whole number by two fractions so that the answer comes out whole, and a question using parentheses to gather a sum or a difference into one expression.

In the question gathering into one expression with parentheses, the parentheses get dropped, the first two are multiplied, and the rest is added or subtracted afterward. A paper that went correctly always keeps a stage where what stood inside the parentheses was gathered into a single fraction.

The procedure of producing a product while simplifying is complete here. That procedure works as the part after a division has been rewritten as a multiplication, in Fraction ÷ Whole Number and Whole Number ÷ Fraction.
