- Rules of Calculation (Expressions)
Expressions with three multiplications and divisions in a row, expressions mixing addition and subtraction in, expressions with parentheses, and expressions where a shared figure is pulled out under the Distributive Law are solved in the order the rules require. Where to lay a hand first changes from expression to expression with the parentheses and the combination of operations.

An expression holding only multiplication and division is worked in the order the operations appear. Remember multiplication as first and the hand reaches for a multiplication standing behind a division. The answer box alone settles it: work out the value taken from the left and the value with the later multiplication done first, and see which of the two the written answer matches.
This is the entrance to Mixed Calculations with Decimals, and the expressions to solve are written out in advance. From Word Problems (Basic) it falls to the child to raise those expressions out of a scene.
