Correct reading errors directly on the sheet after photo grading

I've updated the screen you see after grading a maths worksheet from a photo. You can now look at the marked sheet and correct any answers the system read incorrectly, right there on the page. This replaces the separate list used for reviewing answers.

This time, I focused on what happens after the grading results appear. The system still makes reading mistakes. A cross can mean that it misread your child's handwriting, rather than that your child wrote the wrong answer.

Compare the handwriting with what the system read

After grading, the sheet shows circles, crosses and a score. Answers marked with a cross have a marker for checking them. Press a marker to open the input panel and correct what the system read for that box.

Enter the answer written on the paper, not the correct solution. If the system's reading differs from the handwriting, enter what is actually on the sheet. Once the correction is saved, the marks and score update too. If the system read an answer correctly, you can leave it as it is.

Zoom in to check small handwriting

On a smartphone, spread two fingers apart to zoom in on the sheet. There are also zoom-in and zoom-out buttons. You can move the sheet around to look at the box you want to check.

While building the screen, I found that the circles and crosses could cover the handwritten answers. A screen for checking what was written, with the writing hidden. I've changed the way the red marks are overlaid so that the handwriting remains visible underneath.

When you've finished checking, move on

Press “Done” to continue to the stamps and stars screen. If nothing needs correcting, you can continue without entering anything.

I want this screen to leave room to check your child's answer, rather than treating a machine's cross as the final word. If a cross looks unexpected, first compare the reading with the writing on the sheet.
