Multiplication Word Problems worksheets for Grade 2 (Elementary School)

What this unit covers

Children read the size of one group and the number of groups out of the text and turn them into a multiplication expression. One Equation comes first, and Two Equations builds situations that need two multiplications in a row, or a multiplication followed by an addition.

A situation of 3 items on each of 4 plates gets written as 4 × 3, swapping the number in one group with the number of groups. The answer is the same either way, but which quantity forms one group has not been read. In Two Equations, children often stop writing once the first answer is out.
