- Word Problems
Multiplication that has been chanted into memory is now used inside sentences. Two things have to be read out of the text, the size of one group and how many groups there are, and once those are fixed the equation is fixed. One Equation settles the shape first, and Two Equations follows, where these Word Problems join a pair of equations to arrive at the answer.

The second equation gets built out of the figures printed in the text alone. Because the first answer is never carried in, the figures drift away from the situation whether an addition or a subtraction follows the multiplication. Checking whether the first answer appears inside the second equation decides the matter.
A single lesson makes up this unit, which puts multiplication to work inside a situation. The answers assembled as far as The 10, 11, and 12 Times Tables serve as the tool, and in Making a Table those products are laid out in a grid and read back out of it.
