What this worksheet covers
- Worksheet
- 3-Digit ÷ 2-Digit
The dividend stretches to three digits, and the quotient may be one digit or two. Both No Remainder (Column Calculation) and With a Remainder (Column Calculation) are stacked in the column layout, and the same range is gone round in single-line working. Fill in the Blank turns one of the figures into a box, and Word Problems (Quotient Only) and Word Problems (With a Remainder) count how many portions a scene holds.

Treating the divisor as a round multiple of ten to estimate is the right approach, but the estimate itself gets written through to the end. Multiplying the quotient by the divisor before it was rounded, adding the remainder, and seeing whether it lands exactly on the dividend is the test. If it does not, the rounded figure was carried on somewhere.
Word Problems (Applications) brings scenes with still more digits, and scenes comparing the cost of buying in bulk. What has grown is the digits of the dividend and how many times a quotient is set, while estimating and then confirming is the approach of 2-Digit ÷ 2-Digit.
