- Addition of Mixed Numbers
Mixed numbers enter the expression. Calculation adds one mixed number to another, or a mixed number to a proper fraction, and items are mixed in where the fraction parts total the denominator. Fill in the Blank turns the numerator of the proper fraction being added into a box, and Word Problems sets the same pairings inside a scene.

Where the fraction parts come to the denominator or more, one whole is born there. Items appear where that 1 never joins the whole-number side and only the fraction part is tidied. When the fraction part disappears and the answer is a whole number, that whole number must be one larger than before. Left at the same figure, it means a 1 has lost its destination.
Subtraction of Mixed Numbers handles the same shape in the other direction and meets expressions whose fraction part falls short. As far as Subtracting Fractions with the Same Denominator only fractions stood in an expression, and from here the whole-number side moves along with them.
