What this worksheet covers
- Worksheet
- Add, Then Subtract
Only equations in which a plus sign is followed by a minus sign are gathered here. Work runs from the front: add first, then take away from what that gives. Calculation and Fill in the Blank come first, and Word Problems (with Pictures) and Word Problems follow the situation in that same order.
Reading straight past the minus sign and adding all three numbers is the first thing to appear, and an answer equal to the total of all three shows it has happened. Close behind comes stopping once the addition is done and letting the sum of the first two stand as the answer.
This is the first lesson in which two signs meet inside a single equation. In Subtract Then Add: A-B+C the order they come in is reversed, though clearing one operation at a time from the front stays the same.
