- Basics of Division (0, 1, and Times Tables)
Fixing a quotient from a dividend and a divisor is repeated in bare expressions. Dividing 0, Dividing by 1 and Dividing by the Same Number, whose answers are settled in advance, are cleared away first, and Division Using Times Tables follows. Alongside the plain working comes Fill in the Blank, where a box has to be filled.

Run down the divisor's table and stop where the answer equals the dividend: that is the procedure. Stop at a nearby figure partway down the table and the quotient stays one too small. Multiplying the quotient by the divisor and seeing whether it lands exactly back on the dividend catches going too far and falling short in one and the same way.
What gets settled first here are the shapes with fixed answers and the range where a quotient can be found inside the tables. Word Problems then raises the same expressions out of the wording of a situation.
