- Units of Area (cm², m², a)
Conversions fill a box in an expression whose two sides carry different units, in the form so many m² equals so many cm². m²→cm² and cm²→m² use 1 m² being 10000 cm², and a→m² and m²→a use 1 a being 100 m². One a covers the same ground as a square 10 m on a side.

Move to a larger unit and the figure shrinks; move to a smaller one and it grows. Confirming that direction first is enough to catch a mix-up. Since a→m² and m²→a both use the same figure of a hundred, items appear where a multiplication was done in place of a division or the reverse.
Pulling out the restating of units and practicing it on its own begins with this lesson. As far as Area of Composite Figures the aim was to find how much ground a figure covers. This restating widens to still larger units in Units of Area (ha, km²).
