What this worksheet covers
- Worksheet
- 3-Digit ÷ 1-Digit
One more digit arrives and three-digit numbers are divided. Alongside No Remainder (Column Calculation) and With a Remainder (Column Calculation), items where a 0 stands in a middle place of the quotient come in here. The same expressions appear in the horizontal working, Fill in the Blank, where the dividend alone becomes a box, is included, and Word Problems (No Remainder) and Word Problems (With a Remainder) read scenes of handing out.

Items with two-digit quotients and items with three-digit quotients are mixed together. Where the leftmost digit of the dividend is smaller than the divisor no quotient stands there and the answer has two digits. Set a quotient over that leftmost place and an answer one digit too long is left behind. Multiplying the finished quotient by the divisor and checking that it comes back close to the original number settles it.
Only the digit count has grown, and the way of writing is that of 2-Digit ÷ 1-Digit. In Word Problems (Applications) the column expression itself disappears, leaving scenes that ask about multiples and starting amounts, and scenes where what to do with a remainder has to be decided.
