What this unit covers
Numbers that show order and numbers that show how many are told apart and used differently here. Starting with Position in Line, which asks what place from the front, the unit moves to People in Front and People Remaining, and on to finding the size of the whole line from positions counted at the front and the back, in both picture and word form.
The core confusion is between third from the front and three people from the front, and the answer comes out off by exactly one. In Total People from Front and Back, children treat fourth from the front and third from the back as 4 + 3 = 7, counting the child twice and landing one too high.
