Units of area widen as far as the size of large tracts of land. Eight directions, a→km² and km²→a, ha→km² and km²→ha, ha→a, m² and a, m²→ha, km²→m² and m²→km², are answered as conversions in the form so many ha equals so many km².

A single km² is 100 ha, and that same km² is 10000 a. Take one of those for the other and ha gets divided by 10000 on its way to km², leaving an answer a hundredth of what it should be. Turning km² into ha gains the figure two digits and turning ha into km² loses two, and that movement of digits is how the two are told apart.
