What this worksheet covers
- Worksheet
- The 10 Times Table
Both shapes appear, gathering a number of tens and gathering a single digit ten times over, and swapping the order of the two factors leaves the answer alone. Besides writing the product, there is Fill in the Blank, in which part of the equation has been replaced by a box.

Where nothing but the instruction to add a zero remains, two zeros go in and the answer reaches into the hundreds. An answer here can only carry 0 in the ones with the single digit above it, so counting digits catches the overshoot. In Fill in the Blank the box always holds a single digit, so the tens digit of the answer is the box.
First lesson of the unit. It starts from a shape that merely puts one zero behind an answer already settled in the tables, and from The 11 Times Table the road turns into splitting a number in two, multiplying, and putting the parts back together.
