What this worksheet covers
- Topic
- Weight (kg, g, t)
- Worksheet
- Addition and Subtraction
A single shape, Addition and Subtraction (Word Problems), makes up the lesson. Two weights written in unmatched ways, such as 2 kg beside 1 kg 300 g, appear in a scene, and whether to add or subtract is settled from how the question is worded. Answers are written in the two tiers of kg and g.
A weight such as 2 kg, with no g written, is read as having 0 on the g side. Skip that and start from the written figures alone, and a leftover survives in the answer. The other shape is adding where a difference was asked for; a difference can never exceed the heavier of the two weights.
Lessons that raise an expression out of a scene pause here. Decimal Units moves away from calculating and expresses that same relation of kg and g in decimal form instead.
