What this worksheet covers
- Worksheet
- Units (m, mm)
Written in mm, 1 m comes to 1000 mm. Moving to and fro across that substitution, in the m→mm and mm→m directions, is the whole of the lesson. No other unit is mixed in, and every item takes the form of a conversion.

Because the two directions stand side by side, the direction of the change gets taken the wrong way round. Move to the smaller unit and the figure grows; move back to the larger and it shrinks. A unit that has grown smaller while the figure has shrunk too is proof on its own that the direction is reversed.
From Addition onward, lengths get calculated using units that have been brought into line. Units (km, m) and this lesson together have covered every pairing of a large side with a small one.
