What this worksheet covers
- Topic
- Capacity (L, dL, mL)
- Worksheet
- Subtraction (Same Units)
The difference in capacity between two containers is what these scenes ask for. Both sides have been matched, L against L or dL against dL, so the figures are subtracted and the unit put back on. Bare equations and Word Problems, written out in words, come round in turn.

Take the smaller figure from the larger and the answer is fixed. Begin writing without settling which of the two is the larger and the roles get swapped. Asking out loud which holds more, before the pencil moves, prevents it.
So long as the units agree, subtraction as it already stands can be carried straight over. In Subtraction (Different Units) capacity goes back to being written across two units.
